CALOOCAN CITY, May 18 (PIA) -- Clients in Metro Manila who were unable to claim their new or renewed Alien Employment Permit (AEP) identification cards during lockdown will now have options for delivery arrangements through an online survey.
In an advisory dated May 15, 2020, the Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) released the online “Survey on Availment of Courier Service in the Release of Alien Employment Permit (AEP) Cards” to facilitate distribution of unclaimed AEP cards for release beginning March 2020 onwards but were postponed due to quarantine orders.
“Our AEP services are still suspended while the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) and General Community Quarantine (GCQ) remains in force. Since we need to minimize personal contact for the protection of all concerned, this online survey would still help us assist clients amid COVID-19 crisis,” said DOLE-NCR Regional Director Sarah Buena S. Mirasol.
In the online survey, clients have the option to avail the courier service or follow a strict pickup schedule at DOLE-NCR office.
For clients choosing the courier services should provide their company and representative details, ensuring that the required information is consistent with the details indicated in their Business/Mayor’s permit.
Those who prefer to pick-up their unclaimed AEP cards at DOLE-NCR office will be assisted on a limited basis to avoid spread of COVID-19, allowing only a maximum of 20 clients per day from Monday to Friday, between 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM only.
As a general rule, clients who will opt to receive the AEP cards through company representatives or liaison officers must present an authorization letter to be verified first by a DOLE-NCR personnel.
Meanwhile, future application for new or renewal of AEP can be filed within forty-five (45) working days after the lifting of the ECQ or GCQ as provided further in Section 3 of the DOLE Department Order 213-20. DOLE-NCR’s proposed internal guidelines for AEP operations in NCR in view of Labor Advisory No. 16-20 are still under review.
