Kalinga PNP scores anew on anti-illegal drugs campaign  

LUBUAGAN, Kalinga, June 1 (PIA) – The relentless campaign against illegal drugs amidst the COVID-19 resulted to   the confiscation of    about 4.3 kilograms of dried marijuana.
 
Police and military manning a quarantine checkpoint on Saturday, May 30, flagged down a motorcycle rider at Sitio Manangol, Barangay Mabilong this municipality...

While the suspect was looking for his travel documents, PSSG Prodencio Atas saw a wrapped marijuana with cellophane from the suspect’s slightly opened back pack. When the policeman shouted “marijuana,” this alarmed the suspect to scamper and jump into a ravine.

 Upon inspection, the police discovered four packs of compacted dried marijuana leaves equivalent to 4.3 kilograms
 
The suspect who escaped was identified as a certain Rodelio Banosan aka Solog from Loccong, Tinglayan. Aside from the compacted dried marijuana leaves, authorities also seized one complete set chainsaw and the   suspect’s XR motorcycle.  
 
Inventory and markings of the items were done on the same day with the presence of media, Department of Justice representatives and barangay officials.   

 Complaints for violation of Republic Act6 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is on process against the suspect. (JDP/ PAB-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
