Ozamiz distributes reliefassistance to residents not included in SAP list

OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental, May 18 (PIA) - More than 12,500 families who were not included in the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) received P1,500 cash assistance, two dressed or live chickens and 25 kilos of rice under the Local Social Amelioration Program (LSAP) last May 14 to 16.

The family-beneficiaries of the 51 barangays are from Tabid with 539 families, Sangay Dako with 169, Mentering with 100, Sangay Diot with 82, Gotokan Diot with 97, Kinuman Norte with 305, Kinuman Sur with 148, Gala with 148, Guimad with 60, Guingona with 36, Pantaon with 192, Liposong with 154, Dalapang with 110, Labo with 395, Embargo with 159, and Dona Consuelo with 611 families.

The following barangays also received the said assistance the following day, namely, San Antonio with 233 beneficiaries, Gango with 485, Embargo with 60, Diot with 39, Carangan with 384, Diguan with 90, Cavinte with 18, Balintawak with 13, Labinay with 53, Manaka with 45, Litapan with 63, Stimson Abordo with 46, Dalapang with 1, Trigos with 4, Liposong with 5, Capucao C with 4, Capocao with 17, Mentering with 44, Calabayan with 331 and Carmen Annex with 289 families.

The last group of barangays to receive the LSAP were Dona Consuelo with 295, Maningcol with 233, Triunfo with 198, Santa Cruz with 186, San Roque with 421, Bagakay with 600, Cogon with 92, Lam-an with 287, Bacolod with 197, Tinago with three, 50th District with 24, Bongbong with 135, Pulot with 44, Banadero with 1,019 and Aguada with 1,687 families.

City Mayor Sancho Fernando Oaminal announced that the LSAP cost the city some P38 million just to help the families not in the list of SAP beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Oaminal said the cash, chicken and rice assistance from the local government will benefit 12,400 families.

The Mayor urged the Ozamiznons to cooperate with the protocols set by the government to curb the spread of the virus.
