PASIG CITY, May 25 (PIA) -- The City Government of Pasig and Hi-Precision Diagnostics signed an agreement to increase the city’s testing capacity against COVID-19.
“In line with our goal to test more Pasigueños, we've signed an agreement with Hi-Precision for PCR testing," Mayor Vico Sotto said in a Facebook post.
"We came to an agreement several weeks ago. Now, we've decided to sign already -- even while waiting for their DOH accreditation -- so that we can start on the very same day they are accredited,” Mayor Vico added.
Hi-Precision is a private diagnostic laboratory capable of conducting polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing. PCR is the golden standard in testing for COVID-19.
The local chief also noted that said laboratory has one the most modern laboratories in the country.
According to the city government, the Hi-Precision laboratory will process the PCR swab samples from the local government unit. The samples will be extracted by the City Health Department CESU from the close contacts of COVID19 positive and suspected cases. (PIA-NCR)
