TANGUB CITY, Misamis Occidental, May 21 (PIA)— Twenty four department, division and section heads have recently presented their respective frontline services for the city's Citizen's Charter before the city mayor, vice mayor and other city officials at Function Hall 1 here.
Some 209 frontline services were reviewed to fine-tune according to processing time, fees, procedures and actions of the division's concerned.
City Mayor Jennifer Tan emphasized that these frontline services should be examined thoroughly as these become the clients’ basis in availing of the local government’s services.
Mayor Tan and the members of the Anti-Red Tape Unit (ARTU) chaired by City Development and Planning Officer Emerson Dablo with City Administrator Tessie Lomanta, City Legal Officer Brendale Bayalas, Human Resource Management Officer Wilmar Cuambot and Dr. Maricelle Nueva, officer-in-charge of Gov. Alfonso Tan College critiqued the presentations.
Citizen’s charter is a manual of frontline services of the local government to its clients. The charter stipulates the various services of the government offers, steps, the clients do, government action on the step, amount of time needed to complete the step, amount to be paid, if there is, and the person in charge. It is the official document that communicates in simple terms, service standards, pledge of an agency on the government services being provided to the citizens.
Other than communicating the service standards of the office, it also serves as the basis for establishing the government employees involved in unnecessary red tape and corruption.
In line with the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018, the President in his State of the Nation Address 2019 reiterated his directive to the government offices to fast-track the programs to streamline and improve government service delivery.
