Abra opens provincial isolation facility for COVID-19 patients 

TAYUM, Abra, June 30 (PIA) – The isolation facility at Brgy. Gaddani this town has formally opened and ready to serve CoViD-19 suspect and confirmed patients.

Bishop Leopoldo C. Jaucian, SVD, DD and Fr. Samuel Baruela blessed the facility and celebrated mass attended by Governor Maria Jocelyn Valera Bernos, staff and officials of the Provincial Health Office (PHO), Provincial Department of Health Office (PDOHO) and some employees of the Capitol.

The facility is built inside the vicinity of the Cellophil Resources Corporation in Gaddani. It has 40 isolation rooms for the positive patients of CoViD-19 and 76 isolation rooms for the suspect patients. It also has office for all the medical staff, nurse station and rooms for all the staff working at the facility.

Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer Elmer Bersamin said the facility is equipped with internet connection through the help of Department on Information and Communications Technology.  This will allow patients to get in touch with their families while undergoing quarantine, treatment and recovery.

Bersamin said the internet connection is of immense help for the monitoring of the isolated patients in the facility.

To date, two COVID-19 who are in stable condition are recovering in this newly established provincial isolation unit. (JDP/XADC/CAGT – PIA CAR, Abra)
