TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, June 20 (PIA)- - The Department of Health (DOH) region 2 has confirmed new Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) positive case today.
In a press statement from the agency's Health Education and Promotions Unit, the new recorded case, tagged as Patient 47, is a 42 year-old female from Santa Ana, Cagayan.
Llester Guzman, health education and promotions officer, said the patient arrived from Cavite last June 17, 2020 and immediately subjected to swab test at the DOH COVID-19 Laboratory Testing Center.
Her swab test, Guzman said showed positive result today.
"The patient experienced headache and weakening of body. She is now transferred to the Cagayan Valley Medical Center," Guzman said.
He added that contact tracing is now being conducted by LGU-Santa Ana health officials, police and the officials from the Department of the Interior and Local Government to immediately identify those who have close contact with the new patient.
Guzman, on the other hand, advised the public to always follow protocols and observe health standards to avoid being infected by the virus. (ALM/OTB/PIA-Cagayan)
