DTI Diskwento Caravan to roll in Pateros on June 20

PASIG CITY, June 19 (PIA) -- Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the "Diskwento Caravan" of the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) is set to roll this weekend in the Municipality of Pateros to provide quality, discounted goods to residents.

The Diskwento Caravan event will take place at the Plaza de Borja, Bgy. B. Morcilla St. in Poblacion on Saturday, June 20, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to give easy access .

Affordable products will be sold by companies, such as Century Pacific Foods, Inc., Alaska Milk Corporation, Universal Canning, Inc., Procter and Gamble, Magnolia, Purefoods, Nestle Philippines, Coca-Cola Phils. Inc., Cordillera Farmers, Glacier Megagridge, Inc., and more.

To ensure health and safety protocols, the municipal government strictly reminds consumers to wear face mask and to observe physical distancing when buying from the rolling stores.

In partnership with the LGUs and the DA, the DTI promotes the strict implementation of physical distancing during the conduct of the Diskwento Caravan.

This initiative aims to supply basic goods priced in accordance with, or lower than the suggested retail prices. The basic necessities in the caravan include canned sardines, Instant noodles, coffee, soap, condiments (vinegar, soy sauce), cooking oil, fresh fish and chicken, vegetables, and fruits.  Bottles of disinfectant alcohol are also made available.
