LRTA promotes the use of TVMs for ticket transactions

PASIG CITY, June 26 (PIA) – The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) encourages passengers of LRT-2 to use the Ticket Vending Machines (TVMS) for ticket transactions.

In an advisory, the LRTA said that the use of TVMs is part of the ‘new normal’ ticket transaction to promote contactless transactions amid the pandemic.

According to LRTA, purchasing and/or loading of both single journey and stored value tickets at Betty Go-Belmonte, Gilmore, J. Ruiz, V. Mapa, Pureza and Legarda stations shall be made through the TVMs.

“Our Passengers Assistance Office (PAO) at these stations will only accommodate discounted and problematic tickets,” the advisory states.

LRTA also advises passengers to approach station tellers for assistance on the use of the TVMs.

Earlier, LRT-2 Spokesperson Atty. Hernan Cabrera encouraged train riders to use TVMs and stored value cards for convenience and to promote contactless transactions at the same time. (LRTA/PIA-NCR)
