PASIG CITY, June 27 (PIA) -- Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto cited that the community quarantine protocols implemented in the National Capital Region (NCR) has resulted to more recoveries and less deaths in the city.
On his Facebook Page, Mayor Vico presented the trend of COVID-19 cases in Pasig City during the 100-day implementation of community quarantine, which started on March 16 when President Rodrigo Duterte placed the NCR under the enhanced community quarantine.
Sotto explained that based on the graph from March 16 to June 25, although new cases have been recorded daily in the city, the growth is not exponential. He also cited that the city has recorded less deaths recently and more recoveries.
However, the local chief pointed that a lot of work has to be done.
“The numbers show that the situation is improving, but we still have a lot of work ahead of us.”
As of June 22, the number of COVID-19 patients in Pasig totalled 747, with 439 recoveries and 79 deaths.
He again reminded residents to stay at home, practice social distancing, wear face mask if it is necessary to go out, and also to practice proper hygiene like hand washing. (PIA-NCR)
