PHLPOST releases operating hours during GCQ

PASIG CITY, June 3 (PIA) -- The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPOST) released the schedule of post offices nationwide under the general community quarantine (GCQ).

According to PHLPOST, post offices will be open Monday to Friday, from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.

PHLPOST also informs the public that post offices are currently operating on a 50 percent (50%) skeletal workforce, as directed by the IATF and the Civil Service Commission.

Likewise, health and safety standards are strictly enforced in all post offices to prevent the spread of the virus.

For details and inquiries, PHLPOST advises the public to call the nearest post office in their area.

To recall, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) earlier called on government agencies to undertake the necessary preparations for the reopening of government offices in areas that transitioned from modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) to GCQ, such as the National Capital Region.

The CSC also urged heads of agencies to implement precautionary measures prior to resumption of normal operations, such as disinfection and decontamination activities, conduct of health status check among employees, and modification of workplace layout to ensure observance of physical distancing requirements amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Government offices are also mandated to enforce health standard protocol at all times such as wearing of face masks, taking of body temperature, and setting up of sanitation stations, for the protection of both government workers and the citizens transacting inside government offices.

Moreover, support mechanisms, such as health/psychosocial interventions, provision of personal protective equipment (PPE) to employees, and reasonable transportation facilities and housing quarters, should be made available to government workers. (PIA-NCR)
