Quarantine pass still in effect in Bohol

TAGBILARAN CITY, June 3 (PIA) -- The province of Bohol opted to retain the use of quarantine pass in the fight against the coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) even as general community quarantine (GCQ) took effect on June 1.

Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez, Bohol Provincial Capitol's spokesperson on COVID-19-related issues, said on Monday that Gov. Arthur Yap has decided that Bohol will continue to require the public to bring their home quarantine passes when they go out of their homes.

The decision came a day after the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said home quarantine passes will no longer be needed in areas under GCQ unless the local government units require it in critical and buffer zones or when required by local conditions.

Quarantine passes which are given at one per family is required when entering malls, markets, and other public places.

Yap issued on June 1 Executive Order No. 28-A, extending the GCQ in Bohol only until June 15, “unless further extended.”

This after the governor received a new directive from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases on Saturday, May 30 which placed the entire Central Visayas under GCQ.

According to Yap, all protocols and quarantine measures currently imposed since the province was placed under GCQ on May 1 will remain in effect until June 15, except for the days when minors can go out from their homes which were changed by the Provincial Capitol.

Those aged below 18 when accompanied by their parents or guardians will be allowed to go out from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, instead of the previous schedule of Fridays and Mondays.

Meanwhile, senior citizens aged 65 and above are still allowed to go out of their homes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)
