ROXAS CITY, Capiz, June 26 (PIA) – A formal motion was passed to realign the remaining funds of the Local School Board (LSB) for school year 2020 – 2021.
The measure was approved during a meeting of the local body to support the shift from traditional learning to blended and online learning.
This was disclosed by Roxas City mayor Ronnie Dadivas, who presided the LSB session with Department of Education – City Schools Division superintendent Dr. Cian Beunafe, in a tagged good news post over his official FB page.
“Among the projects that the funds from the realignment will possibly be used for are the establishment of a TeleRadyo Station for DepEd Roxas City and purchase of gadgets for teachers and students who are most in need of it,” he said.
The broadcast station, 'though was not further detailed, will most likely be utilized for the “school-on-the-air" learning strategy.
The amount will also be used for the subscription to an online Learning Management System (LMS) for all schools in Roxas City and the enhancement of internet signals in far flung barangays, among others.
Based on records, there are 41 public elementary and nine public secondary schools in the city.
During the LSB session, DepEd city officials have also expressed their commitment to appeal to the national government to allow the LGU to utilize the Special Education Fund for projects required in the new normal educational standard. (JBG/AAL/PIA Capiz)
