PASIG CITY, June 26 (PIA) - The Department of Agriculture-National Dairy Authority (DA-NDA) under its ‘We Drink Milk as One’ program has bought P10-million worth of milk to help local dairy farmers and frontliners as well amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Through this program, we have the opportunity to extend support to our frontliners by boosting their immune system as they battle against COVID-19,” said NDA said Administrator Marilyn B. Mabale adding that through this initiative, NDA has also provided marketing support to local dairy farmers during this challenging time.

Under the program, NDA buys milk from local dairy farmers and processors and donates it to selected frontline workers across the country. This is in response to the challenges of local dairy farmers in marketing their products as schools, restaurants and other institutions remain closed due to the community quarantine.

According to NDA, the ‘We Drink Milk as One’ program has already provided over 100,000 liters of milk sourced from local dairy farmers to more than 60,000 frontline workers nationwide since its launch in May. (NDA/PIA-NCR)
