Hatid Tulong Program brings home 33 LSIs from Abra

BANGUED, Abra, July 6(PIA) - - The government thru its Hatid Tulong program brought home  33 Abrenios stranded in the National Capital Region during the lockdown.  

The locally stranded individuals arrived in two batches and were dropped off at the Tangadan area in San Quintin, Abra. The first batch composed of 21 LSIs arrived before midnight   while the second batch arrived at 3:40 AM today.

They were cross-checked by   personnel of the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices.

Local government  units provide transport for their respective residents  who were  brought home from Metro Manila  thru the Hatid Tulong Program  initiative of the Office of the President.   They  were  dropped off at  the Tangadan area in San Quintin on July 6. 

The LSIs from Bangued, Manabo, Dolores and Malibcong were picked up by their respective local governments to bring them home.

They thanked the government for the Hatid Tulong initiative of providing them free transportation and safe travel back to their hometowns

"Soon I will be with my family after months of being away from. Thanks to this initiative of the government in providing us a safe travel back here in Abra,” said Jaymalyn Alfaro, an LSI from Dolores municipality.

According to Nyza Ragpa of Presidential Management Staff-Cordillera, the government is providing assistance to LSIs in   going to their home provinces pending the resumption of public transportation.

The LSIs from the Cordillera Region particularly from   Baguio City, Abra, Apayao and Mountain Province who were sent off from the Quirino Grandstand on Sunday (July 5) underwent processing /requirement compliance prior to their travel back home. (JDP/CAGT-PIA  CAR, Abra)
