SSS  still accepting application for  COVID-19 loan aid

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, July 6 (PIA) – The Social Security System (SSS) is accepting application for the Calamity Loan Assistance Program (CLAP) for members affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Spain Urua, SSS-Tabuk Field Office head, said members can avail maximum loan of P20, 000, payable in two years at 6% interest per year.  Application is open until September.  

Urua said borrowers must have paid at least three years contributions, active member and no existing calamity loan.  Upon approval, loan proceeds is directly credited to borrower’s account while payment starts on the fourth month after release of loan.

Urua clarified no interest charge is deducted upon release except a service fee of 1%.

SSS is offering  CLAP in response to President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s Proclamation No. 929 declaring the country under a state of calamity due to the COVID-19 last March 16, 2020.
