Face mask violators in Marikina will be be fined, do community service

PASIG CITY, August 20 (PIA) -- The City Government of Marikina is further intensifying its efforts to ensure that minimum safety and health protocols are strictly observed in the city to prevent the spread of COVID-19. 

As directed by Marikina City Mayor Marcy Teodoro, city operatives are patrolling the city to ensure observance of the minimum health protocol  by the public, aside from the conduct of regular cleaning and disinfecting operations.  

According to the Marikina Public Information Office (PIO), violators may opt to pay the penalty fee of PhP1,000 or through the city’s alternative penalty by rendering eight (8) hours community service, through blood donation, or undergo a moral and spiritual counseling.   

Recently, Mayor Marcy Teodoro also inspected the city’s market area to ensure that minimum health protocols are followed by the public such as wearing face mask and face shield and observance of social distancing.

Teodoro also warned market vendors who go beyond the set boundary line.

The city government continuously remind residents and the public to observe and practice the minimum health protocols to for everyone’s safety. (PIA-NCR)
