MMDA to provide new shuttle buses for employees

PASIG CITY, Aug. 29 (PIA) -- As transportation continues to be limited during the general community quarantine, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is set to provide shuttle service to their employees who commute to work.

Four brand new fully air conditioned buses will be dispatched on the following various areas to ferry personnel for free in the morning on the way to the office and after office hours:

-         Monumento-MCU in Caloocan

-         Coastal Mall in ParaƱaque

-         Robinsons’ Fairview in Quezon City

-         Sta. Lucia Mall in Pasig

Knowing the transportation limitations during the pandemic, MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim said that the new shuttle buses will greatly help employees and give them comfortability as they go to work.

“We hope that the daily work commute of our workers will no longer be a burden and be much easier with these shuttle services,” the Chairman said.

Basic health protocols such as the following will be strictly observed:

-         50% reduced passenger capacity

-         physical distancing

-         wearing of both face mask and face shield

Temperature checks will also be in place before boarding the bus. Passenger who has colds, coughs or body temperature greater than 37.5 degrees Celsius will not be allowed to ride the bus.

From the start of the community quarantine being implemented in the metropolis, the MMDA has been providing free shuttle services for their employees to help them on their way to work. (MMDA/PIA-NCR)
