BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Aug. 30 (PIA) - Representative Luisa Cuaresma has urged barangay officials in the province to monitor infrastructure projects being done in their respective barangays for transparency and accountability purposes.
"We are engouraging our barangay officials to monitor the implementation of various infrastructure projects in their respective barangays. This should also be your counterpart to see to it that these projects are implemented properly," she said.
Cuaresma, vice chairperson of the Congress' Committee on Appropriations said she has sourced out fund for various infrastructure projects for the municipal and barangay local government units (LGUs) in th province.
These are multi-purpose buildings, barangay halls, Farm-to-Market Roads (FMRs) and public market buildings, among others to address the needs of BLGUs and MLGUs.
She said most of the infrastructure projects implemented in the MLGUs and BLGUs are supervised by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Cuaresma also vowed to provide additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the province's frontline health workers working to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19.
"We have sourced out PPEs which will be distributed to the Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center (R2TMC) in Bayombong to augment their needs and to ensure their security from the dreaded COVID-19 while performing their duty to treat our patients," she said.(MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
