CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela - The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of this province has intensified its campaign to process agricultural free patent applications.

PENRO Marlon C. Agnar said the move enables qualified residents to have their lots be titled as the expiration of the effectivity of Republic Act 9176 is on December 31 of this year.

"I have directed the PENRO Licenses, Patents and Deeds Section and field offices to reach out to residents and explain how to avail of the free patent applications speedily, " Agnar said.

Under the Public Land Act of the Philippines, it states that any native of the Philippine Islands who is not the owner of more than 12 hectares and has continuously occupied and cultivated for 30 years either by himself or through predecessors in interest shall be entitled to have an agricultural patented.

This will be an easy process for farmers to officially claim land that are classified as Alienable and Disposable(A&D). (Raquel M. Caldez-PENRO Isabela)
