Dgte marks 120th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary

DUMAGUETE CITY, Sept. 3 (PIA) – Dumaguete City has lined up virtual activities for the month of September in celebration of the 120th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service.

This year’s celebration theme “Philippine Civil Service @ 120: Public Sector in the Age of Digital Transformation.”

This emphasizes on the use of evolving technologies in the pursuit of effective public service delivery in the government, Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo said.

City Human Resource Officer Dr. Dinno Depositario assures that the city government will prioritize technology-driven activities to safely celebrate the anniversary in compliance the directives of the national government under the new normal caused by the current COVID-19 crisis.

The sports activities are only those that can be done outdoor with minimum physical contact and observe the health habits of using face masks and frequent hand washing.

The following activities include the following: flag ceremony with special message from Civil Service Commission Chairperson Alicia Dela Rosa Bala on Sept. 7 at 7:00 a.m. at the the Presidencia, fronting the City Hall; on Sept. 8 at 9:00 a.m., a symposium on Public Sector Human Resource Trends and Development will be held at City Session Hall; Sept. 10 at 2:00 p.m., Forum Series: Conversation with Department of Information and Communications Technology Sec. Gregorio Honasan II at City Session Hall but for confirmation yet; Virtual Special Recruitment Activity at the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) on Sept. 14 at 8:00 a.m.; on Sept. 17 at 2:00 p.m. there will be a Virtual Symposium on DOLE, OWWA, POEA Programs & Services and on Sept. 24 at 2:00 p.m. "Forum Series: Get to Know More About ARTA" with Director General Atty. Jeremiah Belgica, both of which will be held at City Session Hall. 

An orientation for Dumaguete City Barangay Captains on RA No. 11055 or The PhilSys Act with Philippine Statistics Authority will be held on Sept. 25 at 2:00 p.m. and a Bicycle Fun Ride on Sept. 27 at 6:00 p.m. at Quezon Park Grounds. 

The city will also hold recognition rites for employees/volunteers who served as frontliners during the pandemic on Sept. 28, 2:00 p.m. at City Session Hall and on-site application of Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Plus on Sept. 30 at 9:00 a.m. at Business Office Lobby, 2nd Floor, City Hall.
