TERNATE, Cavite, Sep 29 (PIA) – A total of 25 micro and small-scale entrepreneurs in Ternate, Cavite received livelihood starter kits from the Department of Trade and Industry - CALABARZON (DTI-4A), through the Livelihood Seeding Program - Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP- NSB), last September 24.
With the help of Barangay Development Councils (BDCs), the LSP-NSB aims for a more inclusive development by delivering the DTI’s business development assistance services to help MSMEs in poor barangays expand their operations.
The beneficiaries were given P200,000 worth of starter kits, which include 22 sari-sari store packages, one (1) auto repair package, one (1) goto and tapsi food house package, and one (1) eatery package.
“We have our Negosyo Centers all over the province of Cavite to inform our beneficiaries and the public about our programs and projects. Our Business Counsellors will be able to assist and guide them [on] how to start, sustain, and level up their business,” DTI 4-A Regional Director Marilou Q. Toledo said.
Meanwhile, Mayor Lamberto Bambao expressed his gratitude to the DTI-4A for the project, saying that he is looking forward to more livelihood projects for the Municipality of Ternate.
As of September, the provincial trade office has already distributed starter kits to 135 beneficiaries in the province of Cavite, meeting their target of LSP-NSB beneficiaries for 2020.
The DTI plans to further expand the LSP-NSB Program to complement the Negosyo Centers, which provides various assistance to MSMEs, ranging from business registration to product development.
