Online activities cap Linggo ng Kabataan celeb in Antipolo, Rizal; Cleanup drive in Guinsiliban, Camiguin

CAMIGUIN, Oct. 1 (PIA)--Stimulating the youth's participation in various activities amid the coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 pandemic, the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Antipolo, Rizal held online games and contests in celebration of the Linggo ng Kabataan 2020.

During the Network Briefing News with Presidential Communications Sec. Martin Andanar, September 30, Antipolo, Rizal SK Chair Peter Arnold Papel, Jr. said they conducted several online activities to entertain and empower the youth in this time of health crisis. Their activities include contests on essay writing, mobile legends, and quiz bee.

"Naisipan namin na makapag-conduct ng mga proyekto kung saan nabibigyang husay at saya ang mga kabataan kahit na nagpapractice tayo ng social distancing. Walang anumang contact [sa pagsagawa ng mga activities]," Papel said.

(We thought of conducting projects  where we can enhance skills and provide entertainment to the youth even if we are practicing social distancing. There was no contact in the conduct of the activities.)

Also, the SK in Antipolo supports the Department of Education (DepEd) in continued learning of the youth through providing expandable envelopes, personal protective equipment (PPEs), disinfection machines and thermal guns.

“Alam po natin na kahit nasa loob tayo ng ating mga bahay, kahit anong effort na ating gawin whether big or small maaaring makatulong ng malaki in the long run sa ating nagaganap na problema,” Papel said.

(We know that even if we are just staying in our homes, even with any effort that we do whether big or small, we will still able to help in the long run on the current problem that we have.)
