SOLANO, Nueva Vizcaya, Sept. 21(PIA) - The local government unit here will be reopening its public market and slaughterhouse tomorrow (September 22) but banned vendors and buyers from other towns.
"This is part of our intention to help our constituents through our aggressive implementation of our strict health protocols against the COVID-19. Please bear in mind and understand that we do not want our severe situation to be aggravated further," Mayor Eufemia Dacayo stressed.
She said they will also implement the 'No Negative Swab Test. No Business" policy and advised market vendors and their helpers to submit themselves into the required swab testing through their Municipal Health Office(MHO).
Dacayo added that only three livestock vehicles are allowed entry at the slaughterhouse's parking bay with limited 6 butchers to clean their hog offal at the lavatories.
Dacayo said the public market and their slaughterhouse will be opened after it was thoroughly disinfected for almost a month due to the implementation of their Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine(MECQ) brought by the increasing COVID-19 cases.
The wearing of facemask and faceshields, observance of social distancing and practice of hand washing and sanitizing will also be strictly observed before entrants are allowed inside the public market and the slaughterhouse.
The town's public market and slaughterhouse were closed after it was identified as potential sources of local transmission for COVID-19 by health officials from the local government unit and the Department of Health(DOH).
As of September 20, Solano is facing 248 cases, 135 active cases, 107 recovered cases and 6 deaths.
