NAVAL, Biliran, Oct. 13 (PIA) -- The License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) Caravan held on October 8-9, 2020 at the Biliran Provincial Civic Center, Capitol Compound in Naval processed a total of 58 firearms registrations and 263 National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearances.
In his Facebook post, Biliran Governor Rogelio Espina said that of the total 58 applicants who registered for firearms ownership, 20 are new applicants while 38 are for renewal of registration.
The 20 new LTOPF applicants attended the Gun Safety Seminar on-the-spot.
For NBI clearance, 263 applicants were given clearances during the two-day caravan for LTOPF and some for other purposes.
PCpl Nelson Roy Sevilla, LTOPF evaluator from the Civil Security Unit of the Police Regional Office 8 who was among the team, said that the LTOPF caravan which was requested by Gov. Espina was composed of 14 personnel distributed as follows: four (4) personnel for neuro-psycho test; five (5) personnel handled the drug test; one (1) for the seminar; two (2) for the NBI clearance; and to (2) for Finance.
As of 2020, the entire province of Biliran has a total of 573 registered gun owners, PCpl Sevilla said.
The recently concluded LTOPF caravan was the fifth in the province of Biliran. Previous activities were held at the Naval Municipal Police Station and the Biliran Police Provincial Office, Sevilla added.
Gov. Espina posted also in his FB account his next target to provide a one-stop-shop of services for the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) and the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).
Gov. Espina intends to facilitate the applications and releases of clearances, licenses, and other necessary transactions here in the province Biliran considering the restrictions in this difficult times in going to regional offices in Tacloban City during this COVID-19 pandemic.
