Navotas City quarantine facility nearing completion --DPWH

CALOOCAN CITY, Oct. 18 (PIA) --Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar announced that a 200-bed capacity isolation facility at the Navotas Centennial Park in C4 Road will soon be ready to serve NavoteƱos in response to the increasing number of people infected with COVID-19.

“DPWH, through the Malabon Navotas District Engineering Office (MNDEO), is fast-tracking the conversion of 53 container vans that will house patients in order to meet the demand for additional isolation units in Navotas City,” Villar said.

The conversion of 40-footer and 20-footer containers into quarantine facilities was requested by the Local Government Unit of Navotas City to provide quality healthcare and support to patients who tested positive but are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms.

According to DPWH NCR Director Ador G. Canlas, the 50 freight vans are divided into 200 separate quarters with comfort rooms while the remaining three (3) containers will serve as the nurses’ station, triage area, and sanitation room.

“Together with our local government units, DPWH will continue to provide timely and necessary infrastructure in response to the national government’s enactment of the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act,” Villar said. (DPWH/PIA-NCR)
