
CALOOCAN CITY, Nov. 8 (PIA) --Three (3) isolation facilities for COVID-19 patients were recently completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways in Pasay City.
Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar also the designated isolation czar said that three (3) facilities are: the WMall Quarantine Facility with 160 bed capacity; the Folk Arts Theater with 20-unit rooms; and the Pasay City Sports Complex Quarantine Facility with 62 cubicles, one (1) nurse station, one (1) working area and an x-ray room.
Villar said the makeshift hospitals are based on the design standard prepared by the DPWH Task Force to Facilitate Augmentation of Local and National Health Facilities.
The facilities fully-airconditioned rooms and with private comfort rooms.
“These facilities in Pasay were constructed for mild to asymptomatic COVID-19 patients who have to be isolated outside their homes to prevent further spread of the virus,” Villar said.
By the third week of November 20202, DPWH South Manila District Engineering Office also aims to finish the ongoing conversion of container vans into a 72-bed capacity quarantine facility inside Villamor Air Base. (DPWH/PIA-NCR)
