DOLE: Over 60,000 set to benefit from CAMP 2 in CagVal

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Nov. 10 (PIA) - - -A total of 62,428 displaced workers from the region will benefit from the COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program 2 (CAMP 2) of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) as part of the government’s response under R.A. 11494 or the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act 2.

The program is on its second wave, with its initial implementation benefiting a total of 22,000 beneficiaries and an amount of P110,000,000.00 disbursed.

Under CAMP 2, preference is set for those Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) who applied for CAMP 1 on or before April 15, 2020 but did not receive financial assistance due to budget constraints.

Those not categorized as MSME but applied for assistance on or before the above-mentioned date but did not receive assistance can also apply.

Other MSME and those not categorized as such who will apply for the first time shall also be welcome to apply, subject to evaluation and availability of funds.

To minimize the risk to public health due to the pandemic, documentary requirements shall be submitted online through https://ift.tt/3nfvnWx applicants shall be given a tracking number to check the status of their application.

Under CAMP 2, qualified beneficiaries shall be given assistance amounting to P5,000. Evaluation of applications shall be done by the DOLE RO2 within 7 working days and notice of approval or denial shall be sent within 3 working days after the evaluation.

Those excluded from CAMP 2 include government employees, excluding education personnel, and beneficiaries of DOF’s SBWS, SSS Unemployment Benefit, DSWD’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and AICS, DA’s Cash Assistance for Rice Farmers, workers with a monthly gross of P40,000 and above, and foreign nationals except Persons of Concerns (POCs).

DOLE Regional Director Atty. Evelyn R. Ramos expects the regional office to start the implementation soon, as the agency polishes its online system to be ready for the surge of online applications from those wanting to avail of the program.  (MDCT with reports from DOLE Region 2/PIA-2)
