Kalinga PPMC continues project monitoring under new normal

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, Nov. 3 (PIA) - - The Provincial Project Monitoring Committee (PPMC) during its fourth quarter meeting agreed to conduct monitoring on national and local projects starting November 9.

Implementing agencies and local offices were asked to submit to the PPMC the list of their infrastructure, livelihood and other soft projects to be monitored especially the problematic ones.

Initial feedbacks tackled during the meeting were projects delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic or contracted by outside contractors. However, the PPMC did not take this as an excuse since government continues to operate under the new normal where measures are adopted for the safety of everyone.

DILG Provincial Director Max Mayer Adong, the PPMC Chairperson, clarified that contractors outside the province are allowed to continue their contracted projects provided they secure the necessary documents relative to COVID-19 prevention and observe health protocols.

To get direct feedbacks from netizens and beneficiaries, a PPMC facebook page will be created as tool for information dissemination of government projects and a group chat for members for easy coordination.

The committee further approved to expand membership of the monitoring body to include more members from civil society organizations.  (JDP/PAB-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
