Palace urges public to use '8888' text line for govt requests, complaints

CALOOCAN CITY, Nov. 28 (PIA) -- Malacañang is reminding the public that live texting of government complaints and requests is now free of charge.

Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque said citizens could now air their concerns and requests by texting the “8888 Citizens’ Complaint Center” or 8888 CCC, without incurring any charges.

Roque said the Office of the President added the text service platform to the 8888 8888 CCC, which had its soft launch on Nov. 3.

“Citizens can now simply text 8888 from both Globe and Smart and their affiliate telcos and raise their concerns, complaints, and grievances on graft and corrupt practices by government officials and employees and slow and inefficient delivery of government services and requests for government assistance, free of charge,” he said.

The good governance initiative, Roque said, is one way of bringing the government closer to the people and allowing it to respond to their needs with biased to action and timeliness. (PIA NCR)
