Panublion Trade Fair makes over P10M sales, surpasses target

ILOILO CITY, Nov. 27 (PIA) - - Sales in this year’s Panublion Heritage Fair, spearheaded by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) VI reached P10,682,000 surpassing target of P9 million.

This came about notwithstanding the limited movement of people to travel and experience the products of the region, according to DTI VI in a press report.

Around 102 micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) from the provinces of Antique, Aklan, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo and Negros Occidental showcased and sold their distinct handicrafts and food products during the five-day trade fair held at SM City Iloilo which culminated on November 18.

DTI VI Assistant  Regional Director Ermelinda P. Pollentes said, in the agency’s press report, that the recent event was able to reach P10,682,000 in cash sales, booked orders, and orders under negotiation, which were made possible through the collective effort of everybody to ensure that economic activity slowly returns to normalcy.

She expressed her gratitude to all those who joined the exhibit, especially those who bought products displayed at the kiosks and for those who ordered at the online platform.

On the other hand, DTI VI Regional Director Rebecca M. Rascon said the Panublion Heritage Fair 2020 did not simply provide a venue for the MSMEs to display their products but likewise gave the people hope that businesses are slowly coming back.

Participants in the exhibit have undergone a series of product development trainings and seminars like the enhancement of packaging and branding, among others, under the DTI’s One Town, One Product Next Generation Program. (DTI VI/JSC/laf/PIA6 Iloilo)
