City gov’t sets up COVID testing station at Iloilo Airport

ILOILO CITY, Dec. 29 (PIA) – The Iloilo City Government has established a testing station for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) at the Iloilo International Airport.

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas said that they have deployed medical technologists in this COVID-19 station at the airport.

“Our medical technologists are currently stationed at the Iloilo International Airport to test our arriving residents,” he said, adding that the team comprises four medical technologists.

Treñas said that the COVID-19 testing station was set up at the airport to ensure that the results will be released at he earliest date possible, and to secure the safety of everybody.

“It took us a while. We had to get the approval of the airport authorities; after that, we had to get the approval of Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr.,” he said.
