CALOOCAN CITY, Dec. 19 (PIA) -- The government is set to issue guidelines on the use of face shields which was recently required for all individuals stepping out of their homes, a report by PTV News Online said.
“[The] DOH [Department of Health], DTI [Department of Trade and Industry], DOLE [Department of Labor and Employment] and other government agencies are instructed to issue a consolidated advisory to the public on the proper use of face shield,” the latest resolution of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) said.
This came after authorities were made aware on the improper wearing of face shields which should serve as a protective gear against the Coronavirus which finds its way into the body through facial orifices such as the eyes, nose and mouth.
Malacañang has not yet announced if the government will impose sanctions on violators of the protocol. The Palace previously explained that local government units are authorized to decide on the matter.
IATF-EID Resolution No. 89 said that the task force is appealing to local governments “to provide regulatory relief assistance to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) (affected by quarantine protocols) such as but not limited to deferment of payment of deadlines for business fees.”
The same resolution has allowed the re-entry of foreigners “with valid and existing visas who are already in the country and will be leaving the country starting December 17” subject to conditions. (PIA NCR)
