NCRPO conducts round-the-clock inspection in Metro Manila

PASIG CITY, Dec. 31 (PIA) – To ensure a safe and secured yuletide season, the men and women of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) conducts round-the-clock inspection in different posts in Metro Manila as part of the ‘Ligtas Paskuhan 2020’ amid the pandemic.  

The inspection aims to check the operational capability and preparedness of police officers manning the area to ensure peace and order especially in places of convergence.

The NCRPO chief reminded police officers not to slack-off to immediately respond to public needs accordingly.  He also warned them about the use of illegal firecrackers and to avoid indiscriminate firing of firearms.

“Due to the current health crisis, I would like to remind everyone of the existing ban in the use of all forms of firecrackers and pyrotechnics except in designated community areas as approved by concerned LGUs. This policy aims to eradicate future firecracker-related injuries thereby upholding public safety which we must all aim for as we celebrate and welcome the year 2021 with hope and positivity,” said Danao.

He also encouraged the public to cooperate with authorities and to report any illegal activity or suspicions individual to the nearest police station or through SMS via ‘Isumbong kay RD SMS’ hotlines at O915-888-9181 and 0999-901-8181. (NCRPO/PIA-NCR)
