PasigPass now interconnected with ValTrace

PASIG CITY, Dec. 5 (PIA) -- The PasigPass, the city’s contact tracing solution app is now interconnected with Valenzuela City’s proprietary contact tracing app—  ValTrace.

On Friday, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto and Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian signed an Interconnectivity Agreement for PasigPass and ValTrace.

With this agreement in place, the PasigPass QR Code can now be used in Valenzuela City and vice versa beginning Monday, Dec. 7, 2020.

The City Government of Valenzuela launched ValTrace on Sept. 12, upgrading the contact tracing efforts in the city. With ValTrace, contact tracing has become, easier, faster, and safer.

Meanwhile the City Government of Pasig rolled out the PasigPass on Oct. 8 as part of the city’s new health monitoring system.

Mayor Vico expressed his gratitude to the City Government of Valenzuela for extending its generosity in assisting Pasig City with the contact tracing app partnership.

Sotto added that the interconnectivity of the systems would further intensify the two cities contact tracing efforts to help curb the spread of COVID-19.

Likewise, Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian, for his part, thanked Valenzuelanos for using and patronizing the ValTrace app citing that one million residents of the city have already registered in the system.

Gatchalian also said the city has proven the use of the app as efficient, fast, safe and convenient way for contact tracing with safety nets in place to ensure data privacy.

He also welcomed Pasigueños in the city and said that the PasigPass QR Code can now be used in establishments in Valenzuela City.

To recall, the ValTrace application relies on Quick Response or QR codes in place of manual logging. It enables residents and non-residents alike to register and download their own QR codes and have it presented upon entering any enclosed indoor establishment within the city for a truly contactless transaction.

City Ordinance No. 783, Series of 2020, which provides safe, timely, and more complete contact identification and follow-up compared with the traditional system, supports the use of the ValTrace app. (PIA NCR)
