DAR brings New Year cheer to 24 Negrense ARBs

NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, Jan. 30 (PIA) -- This New Year has brought cheer to 24 agrarian reform beneficiaries as the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)-North distributed more than 30 hectares of land to these beneficiaries.

In Cadiz City, 21 hectares were awarded to 10 ARBs through the on-site distribution of the Certificate of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) from landholdings formerly owned by Concordia Paragat, with a designated area of 21.7266 hectares, located in Sitio Aluyan, Barangay Caduha-an, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer (MARPO) Teresita Doromal of DAR—Cadiz City told ARBs that now that they have attained their dreams to till, to farm, and became the landowners of their respective areas, they should keep in mind to pay their taxes and other obligations.

“DAR is created and founded to help and guide its stakeholders. The department continues to live its mandate to serve you, our farmer-beneficiaries,” Doromal added.

Meanwhile, in Barangay Udtongan in Escalante City, 14 ARBs received their CLOAs covering 16 hectares of landholding formerly owned by Antonio Javellana.

Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer (MARPO) Maritess Resano in Escalante City assured ARBs that DAR will not stop assisting the farmer beneficiaries through the provision of various projects and different farming support services.

“This is a new milestone for all of you. Finally, after years of hard work, you can now call this property your own. Never engage in any illegal leasehold activities as it may cause disqualification,” Resano added (LTP/EAD/PIA-Negros Occidental).
