ILOILO CITY, Feb. 1 (PIA6) – The Iloilo City Government turned over a total of 54 Japanese bikes to 21 barangays to provide mobility to the village tanods.
City mayor Jerry Treñas said that these Japanese bikes were received by the Barangay Bike Patrols, which comprise barangay tanods.
“The Iloilo City Government turned over a Japanese bike each to 21 barangays that will protect the welfare of our residents as well as provide mobility for our tanods,” he said.
Treñas said that another 21 Japanese bikes were also forwarded through the donation of Uswag Ilonggo, and 12 were donated by the Iloilo Festivals Foundation Inc.
“We have always looked for ways and means to ensure that everyone is safe especially this time where we need to be extra careful to save a life,” he said.
He added that barangay patrols were also given complete gears and uniforms for their protection.
