Bangkok, 1 February 2021 – BERTOLLI®, the world’s number one olive oil brand, has today launched its first creative commercial produced locally in Thailand to celebrate the brand’s long-standing connection with the country and its people.

The company revealed the video as part of its New Year celebrations on the Bertolli Thailand Facebook Page at http://facebook.com/BertolliTH. To signify the launch, Bertolli is running a special interactive giveaway of Extra Light Tasting 250ml bottles, running from today to February 3rd 2021.

The video advertisement featuring local talent presents the heartwarming relationship between a mother and her son who prepares a surprising meal of her usual dishes with a healthy twist. With families jointly making decisions on groceries, the video’s setting of a Thai family kitchen and dining table was also carefully chosen.

The video continues Bertolli’s close relationship with Thais and their households, following on the footsteps of its innovative Messenger Chatbot campaign in October and November last year, and at a time when people are spending more time at home and cooking together with their families.

It also comes at a pivotal moment for DEOLEO GLOBAL S.A.U., with the company looking to build on its 12% YoY growth by volume in Thailand by continuing to feature real stories of Thai people in 2021.

“After more than 30 successful years in the market, we are delighted to feature a real-life, relatable scenario that will resonate with our consumers in Thai language as our first local commercial. Our goal is to show how important Thailand is to us and how we will continue to evolve our products and service to offer the highest quality olive oil as an industry leader. We hope the video will resonate with our Thai base and will help bring the Bertolli message closer to their hearts,” said Jose Maria-Sagrado Jimenez, International Marketing Director, DEOLEO GLOBAL S.A.U.

The video also emphasizes olive oil’s versatility and suitability for cooking Thai dishes, including high heat dishes, while also highlighting its immense health benefits. With consumer attitudes and preferences changing towards healthier options, olive oil contributes positively to strengthening the body’s immune system, helping prevent cardiovascular diseases and obesity[1], and is high in antioxidants and monosaturated fats to lower blood pressure and decrease the risk of heart disease.

With its variety of Bertolli Extra Light Tasting, Bertolli Olive Oil and Bertolli Extra Virgin, Thais inspired by the video can easily prepare any type of Thai dish regardless of the cooking technique – be it deep frying, stir frying, salads, marinades, roasting or even baking. By changing to Bertolli olive oils, Thais can enrich every Thai favourite dish by creating a much healthier alternative.
