ICAD-9 advocacy cluster convenes to formulate communication plan against illegal drugs

PAGADIAN CITY, February 24, 2021 (PIA) – The members of the advocacy cluster of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) recently gathered to come up with effective measures to curb the problem of illegal drugs in region 9.

During the ComPlan workshop, assistant regional director Rene Carbayas of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA-9) helped cluster members create ComPlan with their respective agencies to implement effective strategies and to achieve the goal of ICAD advocacy cluster for a Zamboanga Peninsuladrug-free region.

The cluster’s programs were already planned last year but the implementation was severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic's travel restrictions and health protocol for mass gatherings.

At the workshop, cluster members presented their accomplishments last year, their ongoing activities against illegal drugs as well as the ComPlan of their respective agencies.

The consolidated ComPlan, is expected to be implemented by the cluster in 2022 to further strengthen the government's campaign against illegal drugs.

The ICAD advocacy cluster consists of the following: Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Department of Health, Philippine National Police and Philippine Information Agency. (NBE/GCC / PIA-Zamboanga del Sur)
