ODIONGAN, Romblon, Mar. 01 (PIA) -- Romblon governor Jose Riano said that he will adhere to the new guidelines issued by the National Covid-19 task force, but the local government  units (LGUs) should make sure that everyone entering the province have no symptoms of the virus.

On a Viber message sent to PIA-Ropmblon, Governor Riano said that only travelers with symptoms will be subjected to quarantine and swab tests.

"We need this to open the economy of the Province including the tourism sector," Riano said.

Sources from the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases said that the task force will meet this week to finalize the new guidelines based on IATF Resolution No. 101.

Also part of the resolution was the removal of travel authority issued by covid shield and health certificate as a requirement when traveling from one province to another.

In the meantime, travelers must still follow the existing guidelines by the PIATF. (PJF/PIA-Mimaropa)
