32 frontliners receive AZ vaccine in its rollout in Tabuk City

Tabuk City COVID-19 treatment & monitoring facility health frontliner Grace Taclobao is first to be vaccinated by CHO nurse Charity Puday in the Tabuk CIty COVID-19 vaccination roll-out.

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, March 19 (PIA) – Some 32 medical frontliners were the first batch of city health workers inoculated with the first dose of Astra Zeneca vaccine in the city COVID-19 vaccination roll-out on Wednesday.

City Health Officer Henrietta S. Bagayao said medical frontliners deployed at the city COVID-19 treatment and monitoring facility were given priority. She said they made this consideration since these frontliners have direct exposure to COVID-19 patients at the treatment facility.

More    city-LGU’s other health workers are lined up for vaccination including certain health workers from private hospitals.

The Department of Health-Cordillera Region has deployed to the CHO 11 Astra Zeneca vaccine vials which are good for 110 individuals, for the initial round of COVID-19 inoculation here.

Rhea Wales, CHO nurse assigned to the vaccination area, reported there was no adverse reaction monitored from the vaccinees but one listed recipient was deferred due to rise in blood pressure.

As protocol, all must pass the medical screening before taking the vaccine.

The second dose for Astra Zeneca vaccine follows after 4-12 weeks, CHO said.

As of March 18, DOH-CAR report showed there are 713 frontliners inoculated against COVID-19 in the province- 578 with Sinovac vaccine and 135 with Astra Zeneca. (JDP/LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
