ILOILO CITY, March 30 (PIA) --The Army’s 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division formally turned over the newly-constructed learning hub to the Department of Education (DepEd) - Concepcion District Office through a ceremony in Bacjawan Sur Elementary School (BSES) on Monday, March 29, 2021.
Concepcion, Iloilo mayor Raul Banias, together with the 3ID officers, personnel of DepEd - Concepcion District Office, and faculty and staff of BSES led by its principal, Rogie Espulgar, attended the turn-over and blessing of the learning hub.
The construction of the said learning hub was a result of the initiative of the Teacher Fellows, namely Maria Isabelle Vinoya, Celine Marie Santos, and Mae Rosette Patio, and from the Teach for the Philippines, a non-stock and non-profit organization, a press release from the 3ID Public Affairs Office said.
The Army's 3ID, through its Post Engineer Detachment (PED), started the construction of the leaning hub on February 2, 2021 and completed on March 24 of this year.
Major General Eric C Vinoya, Commander, 3ID, said that the Army as an active partner of the DepEd in molding responsible future leaders of our country through quality education, adding that the Philippine Army is more than willing to provide the students a place conducive for learning.
“We are glad that we have been given this opportunity to help the students through this learning hub. With this, we will be consistent in supporting the future programs of the DepEd," Vinoya said.
He also made an assurance that they will work hand- in-hand with their counterpart agencies and stakeholders to give the students their desired high-quality education. (PIA6/DPAO-3ID/Phil. Army)
