PASIG CITY, April 1 (PIA) -- Kapuso prime time actor, Alden Richards gave a salute to frontliners who relentlessly perform their duties to respond to TB cases amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“…I would like to salute the United States Agency for International Development, World Health Organization and Philippine Department of Health for their continuous technical assistance to our cities, municipalities and provinces in line with integrating TB response amid COVID-19,” said Richards.

The Kapuso prime time actor, who also serves as #EndTB Ambassador recognized the importance of raising public awareness about the dreaded tuberculosis (TB).

Tuberculosis or TB is a killer disease but it is curable. Since I was chosen as your EndTB Ambassador last year and with support from my TV network GMA Television, we've had several public outreach and multimedia campaigns supporting the “Race to EndTB.”

Richards who is also hailed as Asia's Multimedia Star, uses his personal social media accounts to disseminate information about TB.

I am honored to share basic information about TB and where to access free TB services. I used my Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to share USAID's TB Platforms campaign to raise public awareness about the disease and to promote positive health seeking behavior amid these most challenging times.

He also expressed his gratitude for the trust and confidence given to him to promote the #EndTB campaign.

Thank you for believing that using my circle of influence and through the collaboration of USAID’s TB Platforms and GMA TV Network, we help educate our kababayans on TB and promote positive health seeking behavior for the disease amid the COVID19 pandemic,” added Richards. (PIA NCR)
