TINOC, Ifugao, March 12 (PIA) - - Recovering drug personalities and their families in this municipality are in one voice in thanking the government for giving them a chance to walk in the right path after being involved in illegal drugs.
A total of 56 RDPs finished the 18-months after care program of drug rehabilitation and two individuals completed the six month- treatment and interventions at the Ifugao Reflection Camp (IRC) at Tiger Hill, Kiangan. These RDPs were recognized during their graduation and moving-up ceremony recently.
Five RDPs shared that the community-based rehabilitation program of the province through the various activities of the IRC, they learned to gain self-confidence and started to mend their ways for their benefits.
“Through also the love and care of our families, we were inspired to continue and finish the community-based activities of the 18-months aftercare program with the guidance of officials and employees of the municipal and barangay government units,” they added.
They assured not to use illegal drugs again and continue to walk the right path for their families and the community as a whole, and urged their fellow RDPs to grab this opportunity for a bright future.
A mother and a sister of two RDPs thanked the national and provincial government for initiating the community- based rehabilitation program that helped their loved ones to mend their ways.
“We witnessed their dedications and sacrifices in attending the many activities required by the program that transformed them into better citizens in the community,” they said.
Meanwhile, Provincial Administrator Abellardo Yogyog who represented the governor during the graduation and moving-up ceremony, lauded the RDPs for successfully completing the requirements of the rehabilitation program.
“Do not waste your precious years with these illegal drugs. Steadfast and never relapse to your old ways for a better future,” Yogyog stated.
The municipal officials of Tinoc also advised their constituents to be assets of the society by becoming leaders of their respective families and barangays as the local government unit is doing its best to provide the necessary services needed. (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
