CITY OF TABUK ,Kalinga, April 13 (PIA) – Seven barangays are placed on 14-day surgical lockdown due to recent spike in COVID-19 cases.
Mayor Darwin C. Estranero issued Executive Order 17, Series 2021 placing the barangays of Agbannawag, Nambaran, Bulanao Centro, Bulanao Norte, Appas, Magsaysay and Poblacion Centro under surgical lockdown from April 10-23, 2021.
Under the surgical lockdown order, only certain streets and sitios with confirmed COVID-19 cases are covered for effective contact tracing to prevent the further spread of the virus.
For Bulanao Centro, covered are Puroks 1,4,5,6 and 7; Puroks Datu, 2 and 3 in Bulanao Norte; Mayangao and Roxas streets in Dagupan Centro; Provincial Road and Nasgueban in Appas; Provincial Road, Ubbog and Oroquita St. in Magsaysay; Junction, Centro and Bliss in Nambaran, and Puroks 1 and 4 in Agbannawag.
For the duration of the lockdown, strict home quarantine shall be observed in all households, with movements limited to accessing essential goods and services or for work in permitted offices or establishments.
The City Health Office reported that as of April 12, there are 1,778 COVID-19 confirmed cases in the city with 338 active cases and 25 deaths.
Meanwhile, the city vaccination program continues with Mayor Estranero taking his first dose of Sinovac vaccine last April 9.
“This is leading by example”, he said as he encouraged qualified residents to avail of the free vaccination. (JDP/LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
