CALOOCAN CITY, April 4 (PIA) -- Mayor Oca Malapitan on Saturday said Caloocan City's vaccine rollout for its active medical and healthcare workers under category A1 continued even during Sabado de Gloria (Holy Saturday).

"Vaccination continues this Saturday, Sabado de Gloria for those in category A1 or active medical and healthcare workers in Caloocan," Mayor Oca said in a Facebook post.

"Today, we assigned seven vaccination sites for the A1 category who want to get vaccinated. These include Bagumbong High School, Deparo Elementary School, Camarin Elementary School, North Caloocan Elementary School, Dela Costa Elementary School, Pag-asa Elementary School, and Caloocan High School," Malapitan added.

"[Just a] reminder, the City Government assigned 'fast lanes' to the mentioned vaccination sites for active medical and healthcare workers who want to get vaccinated. Just introduce and provide ID to give priority to mentioned vaccination sites," he further said.

Caloocan also kicked off the immunization drive for senior citizens (A2 priority sector) and high-risk or with comorbidities from 18 to 59 years old (A3 priority sector) on Monday, March 29.

The local government is calling on residents to undergo “profiling” to secure a slot in the priority list for Caloocan’s vaccination program. Residents are advised to tune-in to Mayor Oscar Malapitan’s Facebook page for vaccination schedules.

While walk-ins are accepted for the vaccination program, Malapitan said it would be best if they can fill out the online form or coordinate with their barangay’s health center first.

He said senior citizens can send out a representative to speak with their barangay’s vaccination point person if they cannot access the online form, adding that will need an official ID and PhilHealth ID number for the profiling form.

Meanwhile, as of April 3, Caloocan City has distributed food packs non-stop to residents Phase 3, Barangay 176 and Barangay 167, distributing grocery packs and food boxes from the Caloocan City Government under the direction of Malapitan. (PIA NCR)
