DPWH completes concreting of access road in Maria Aurora town

BALER, Aurora, April 3 (PIA) -- Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the concreting of the 3.448-kilometer San Jose-Barangay 2 Road in Maria Aurora, Aurora.

DPWH Aurora District Engineer Roderick Andal said the completion of the PhP 24.5 million infrastructure has finally made driving easy for motorists who travelled for years on rough roads.

“Now, farmers and the locals alike are enjoying a more convenient and faster travel to this hinterland.  Agricultural products, such as coconut and rice can now be brought to market easily by our farmers,” Andal shared.

The project, which was funded under the DPWH 2020 Local Infrastructure Program, has been receiving positive feedbacks from the general public because not only did it improved the lives of the residents but also boosted tourism in the area by providing easy access to nearby destinations.

“The bigger picture of this accomplishment is what keeps us really proud. Aside from the shortened travel time, the coconut and rice farmers are benefiting from reduced gas consumption in transporting their products to the market because buyers from neighboring areas directly pick up the produce here, keeping the market prices low for everyone to afford,” Andal furthered.
