CALAMBA CITY, Laguna, May 7 (PIA) --The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) announced the activation of free wi-fi for all access points in five (5) isolated barangays in the province.
Located in two municipalities, the five barangays are: Paowin, Cansuso, and East Talaongan in Cavinti; and Bayate and Tuy-Baanan in Liliw town.
DICT Laguna said DICT Luzon Cluster 2 with the support of LGUs, has installed and activated free wi-fi for all sites in Geographically Isolated & Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) within the region in response to the advocacy of the government to expedite the implementation of its free internet services.
"Making sure that no one is left behind, DICT will continue to provide free internet connectivity for every Filipino," DICT Laguna added.
The DICT is the primary policy, planning, coordinating, implementing, and administrative entity of the Executive Branch of the government that plan, develop, and promote the national ICT development agenda. (cpg, PIA-4A)
