CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, May 15 (PIA) - - The Department of Public Works and Highways 1st District Engineering Office (DPWH-1DEO) Cabagan bypass road project is nearly completed.
The P224 million bypass road project is already 80% completed as of March 2021 as reported by DPWH.
DPWH - 1DEO head Engr. Deoferio Vehemente Jr said the bypass road project includes the construction of 1,646 linear meters with 13.4 meters wide, four (4) lanes PCCP carriageway and 2.5 meters PCCP shoulder on both sides.
The road project also includes 3,370.62 linear meters of concrete lined canal with cover, curb and gutter, 903.98 linear meters of rubble concrete retaining wall, seven (7) lines of 2-barrel and 3-barrel box culvert cross drainage structures and common borrow soil.
“This project also involves soft scaping of islands on junctions, installation of roadway lightings, safety/traffic signages and pavement markings. Bike lane and sidewalk is also incorporated in the widened section for additional amenities for the public,” Vehemente said.
He said the Cabagan bypass road is funded under the Regular Infrastructure Program FY 2018-2020 with three phases that traverses Barangay Ngarag, Poblacion and Ugad and will reduce travel time by 10-15 minutes. (MGE - PIA-2/Isabela)
