PASIG CITY, May 16 (PIA) -- Members of the Eastern Police District (EPD) recently took part in a bloodletting caravan to collect the life-saving blood.

At least 100 EPD personnel participated in said activity which was hosted by the Sagip Buhay Movement held at the Ground Floor Legislative Bldg, Brgy Sta Elena in Marikina City. In line with the efforts to combat COVID-19, screening for potential convalescent plasma donors was also undertaken with strict adherence to health and safety protocols.

The activity aims to support and commit to save the lives of the most vulnerable through blood donations.

This blood donation drive, according to EPD, is the PNP’s response to the urgent call to provide life-giving blood amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The activity also showed the EPD's compassion and love for fellow Filipinos by donating one’s own blood and in the process, ensure that the country's blood banks are always able to meet the needs of Filipino patients.

Likewise, the event is also in response to help increase blood supply in this time of pandemic. (PIA NCR)
